I got so much support it was wonderful,” she said. “Chrystelle has been there all the time to support and advise me. However, it was only when I felt ready and had gained the information and knowledge I needed to begin running a business that I launched Francophony.” Odile Haustant, Francophony.

Getting it right first time has helped Odile Haustant develop her publishing business, Francophony and make faster progress with fewer mistakes along the way.

The company’s flagship product, a glossy bi-lingual magazine called Francophony, is now in its third year of publication and continues to build circulation (now up to 10,000) and geographical reach (you can now buy the publication in Ottakars and Borders bookshops across London and in Brighton, Cambridge, Oxford and even Glasgow).

Francophony publishes articles on French-speaking art and culture and aims to support readers wishing to improve their understanding of both the French language and culture.

At any given time, Francophony employs up to 20 members of staff, using freelancers when required at busy times and Odile is planning to increase her sales staff in order to develop the business further.

Now that we’re well established, we need to grow the business properly, which can only be done with a well-trained and motivated sales team. With Francophony, the sky’s the limit.”

" As a business advisor, Chrystelle has provided very good support services and has helped the business through difficult situations, providing valuable information. She has been committed to my out-of-hour's requests. She has excellent ears when it comes to listening to issues having an effect on the business."

Odile is 27 and recently won the Enterprise Enfield Young Entrepreneur of the Year award.
